Rehabilitation
Therapy

Many Wisconsin Illinois Senior Housing Inc. communities offer rehabilitation therapies that are prescribed by a doctor for people recovering from a serious injury, surgery, or another significant medical event. The purpose of rehab therapy is to help patients return as closely as possible to their previous level of ability. There are a variety of rehab therapies available and our licensed therapists work closely with physicians to develop and execute a care plan that meets each individual’s needs.

Inpatient
Rehab Therapy

Inpatient rehabilitation therapy at WISH communities is prescribed by a doctor for individuals who have experienced a significant medical event, such as a brain injury or stroke, amputation, joint surgery, or another life-changing event. Inpatient rehabilitation often follows a hospital stay, making sure patients receive the continuing medical care they need and ensuring a successful transition from hospital to home.

Outpatient
Rehab Therapy

Outpatient rehabilitation therapy can be the next step in recovery after a serious medical event and is often prescribed by doctors to help patients regain physical movement, improve speech following a stroke, continue healing after hip or knee surgery, or learn how to complete tasks that current physical limitations may prevent. It can also offer preventative techniques for successful aging, such as exercises and strategies to help avoid falls and improve balance.

Prehab
Therapy

While it’s normal to receive inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation therapy to help recovery after surgery, it’s been found that physically preparing prior to surgery can improve recovery time. Prehab therapy is a type of therapy that uses strengthening techniques and exercises to maximize strength and physical ability, so that muscles that might normally be reduced in size or atrophied during healing can recover much quicker.

Holton Manor
Aquatic Therapy

In addition to other therapy methods, the WISH Holton Manor community offers aquatic therapy. This unique option uses a specialized swimming pool filled with warm water to reduce stress on your muscles and joints as you complete prescribed movements and exercises, reducing pain and enabling greater freedom of movement.
